How come the woman's image has changed so much? If standards of women were like those from the Renaissance, I would be a rich model. Women were painted with curves and still looked beautiful.

But in the 21st Century, to be a model or seen as "normal" a woman needs to have a skinny boyish figure of no curves and be basically anorexic. It is amazing what the media says is "perfect."

When going out with friends I have always been, the hot girls friend. It bothers me, but I know it is because I am not flirty and I'd rather treat a guy as a friend than try to be a seductress - not because I am overweight/fat/ugly/etc. All of these friends have had times when they say they don't like their bodies. I look at them an usually laugh. But the average 5' 4" woman weighs 140lbs, which is healthy! So when you weigh 150 and are 5'6" - god forbid . . . you are right where you need to be.
If you are healthy, weigh what you should, have a good BMI, eat healthy, and THEN say you are trying to loose weight which might lead to people liking you - please see a counselor. You have a negative image of yourself and some help need help.

The problem with women's body image started with women's media. As women began to covet ultrathinness in themselves, this became what men desired (because men invariably desire what women covet).
The vast majority of men will tell you that they don't find thinness all that sexy. Women do this to themselves.
