Yes, yes. I know it has been a while.
First of all, I recieved a probationary layoff notice at the beginning of May. By May 15th, the district was supposed to give me a formal notice of layoff. Well the board voted to lay us new teachers off on the 15th and that was that... or so we thought. We were never given the formal notice... so oops on them and yay for us... I have a job next year!!!
I recieved a phone call last week with my assignment. I will be teaching 5th grade next year, which is good because next summer I have a hefty bill.
Another piece of good news, I am engaged! M and I will be married next summer. I get to plan it all. I am excited, nervous, and have NOOOOO idea where to start.
This is the ring, marquise diamond. It is JUST what I wanted.
I have about 10 wedding magazines that I have been marking on my three week vacation -- currently starting week 3. We have a temporary guest list. Friends helping out (pictures, officiating, DJ, planning, etc). MOH and BM. Colors chosen. Etc. When we get back from vacation the hard part starts... venues and dates.
Luckily I have tons of friends and family willing to lend a hand and give advice. While I have immediate family troubling me (yes, already --- 3 weeks into my engagement) and trying to control M and my wedding. It's been a tough few weeks when I am supposed to be happy and celebrating but yet I am dreading what this next year might be life.
But as the Dali Lama says, Use compassion. And from the many voices of support, this is M and my day, not anyone else's.
